Wedding 101
Tip #7
Set your priorities according to your budget I learned the hard way that you really do get what you pay for (after what happened with Rei Rana). So set your priorities along with your budget. There are things that you should invest in and pay good money for. Based on my experience, it was the food, the alcohol, coordinator, the photographer, the videographer, and the make up artist.

W@W at Megamall Bridal Fair
Even though I won’t be coming back in Pinas until the end of March, I felt that I was still present at the W@W event last weekend. I have to thank (super!!) Aweng and I’s co-daldalita and co-w@wie, President April, for printing a photo of me and the rest of the daldalitas who are also based abroad. I enjoyed being there for 3 days and 2 nights straight! walang tulugan!
Anyway, Here...

Sharing: W@W Assignment by Benjie Tiongco
venue: 1Esplanade
Saw this set of photos by Benjie Tiongco in W@W facebook page. And again in W@W yahoo groups by Ms. Benz. It is an eye opener, a glimpse of what is behind a beautiful wedding. Curious on what’s behind every wedding? That my dear friends, is a supplier with passion.
Benjie did a great job capturing everything. From the moment that 1Esplanade was...

Stress Reliever - part 2
This is just a sign that when you willingly help others, good things happen in return.
Thanks to W@W for being a great venue where fellow brides and grooms can help each other. You can never imagine the support and help you can get from this group of strangers.
Hi Aweng and Thessa! Thanks! I know you both have been helping a lot of brides and grooms with all their wedding inquiries and I think...

Stress Relievers
I’m a little bit stressed out today. Just looking at the countdown (almost 2 months to go!), I easily get panicky.
But, we received two messages today from people we don’t know personally… and they were SO uplifting.
i saw your tumblr account for the wedding and i must say i love everything! hehe.. what caught my attention more was the fact that the motif for my wedding next...

Tip #7
Make your wedding your own. Know what you want and be firm in your decisions. Don’t aim for a feature-worthy wedding. Don’t aim for a perfect day. Go for a wedding that is truly your own.

DIY Buntings, Bowtie and more flowers
I have been on hiatus for days in doing my diy. It took me almost a week just to finish my buntings for our registration table and kinda got some preaching for slowing down at this time when there is only 2 months (almost) left to finish everything.
Anyway, I still got lots of felt and burlap fabric left and other fabric that i bought but haven’t got the chance to use. A few days ago, Aweng...

DIY Thumbprint Wedding Tree
This is an alternative to a traditional guestbook. I think it has gotten popular already that it is very common in weddings nowadays. Guests will “leaf” their thumbprints on the branches and sign with their name. It will be a nice piece of artwork for our future home.

I saw an old frame hanged in our wall and decided to use it for our wedding tree....
Message of Love
In a world where material items and tangible goals are all that matter, it is a struggle every day to remember that it is the intangible things in life that matter most. Take a moment each day to think of all the love you receive in your life - then give it back, just like Katie did.

Invitation: Mass Production
Having nice invitation doesn’t have to be expensive…
I spent less than P1000 for 60 pcs invites including materials like puncher, paper cutter, etc. You just have to be resourceful and know where to buy the cheapest materials.
I asked an invitation supplier how much my intended invitation would cost and they qouted me P200 each. No way! So I proceeded with DIY.
Also, if you are...

Wedding Ring for Valentines
Yesterday, I picked up our wedding ring from Goldenhills, Robinsons Manila branch. Just in time for Valentines so we consider this as our Valentines gift for each other.
I initially made reservation for a different ring last June 2011 Bridal fair. When Thessa was here last August, there was a bridal fair in Megamall and I took her to the Goldenhills booth to check some ring. More kwentos here.

TIP #6
We must remember that we are not SUPERWOMEN. We don’t have to do everything on our own, from the research, to the booking, down to the last detail. Wedding planning not only becomes easier but becomes more fun and meaningful when family and friends pitch-in.

The Pats' Prenup by MangoRed
Lively. Fun. Laid back. Whimsical. Love.
Patty Laurel and Patrick Filart.
Their prenup with MangoRed is just awesome. Aweng and I love it! The feel of the place is very nice..the colors are vibrant and i love the part where they got messy :)Beautiful couple. So effortless.
It is just so perfect. You can feel the love between the two of them :) Oh I cant wait to see Patty in her wedding...

Tip #5
Aside from the couple, family is also very important. One of things that I had to get over, was that I didn’t allot enough time for family pictorials. Don’t forget the mother/daughter picture (This is one of my biggest regrets, because I consider my mom as one of my closest friends, but I forgot to do this). I would have traded my solos for more family shots.

Passion Cooks: An early review
We can’t think of any better way to describe them but with their name itself – Passion Cooks. As early as now, we can feel that choosing them to cater our wedding is the best choice we’ve ever made. We are completely confident that our wedding will be special knowing that they serve one event per day and that we’ll be given their full attention. The food was so incredible during our food...

Tip #4
There are suppliers who are open to creative ideas, but it is up to you to communicate it or else it won’t happen.
-Jo-anne (Rebellious Bride)
Agree! We can’t totally blame our suppliers if our wedding turned out not the way we wanted it to be. It is our responsibility to communicate our visions. The most effective way I know is to show them some pegs. There’s a lot...

Supplier Update: Metromix Pro Lights and Sound
Lights and Sound..
This is another item that took us months to finally book. I went back to my emails, we initially inquired July of last year. Then i inquired again last September. But it was only this January when we finally decided to book them.
Another cross to that checklist.

Invitation: Mock-up
And so my dad said, “Mag-resign kana sa trabaho mo!”. Gawa na lang daw ako invitations.
This is the craftiest I’ve ever been. I don’t even know where it came from. I just hope I can make money from this as much as I do from my regular job because this is more enjoyable than work in the office.
Anyway, I just finished the mock-up of our invitation. I set my goal to finish...

Tip # 3
It is never too early to book your suppliers.
-W@wies
This is another popular saying in WeddingsAtWork (W@W) yahoo groups. Since we know that there are a lot of couples getting engaged and starting their preps early, some of them tend to worry if they are doing things a little bit early since their wedding will be like one year ahead. But booking early gives us a lot of advantages...

Sharing: Ring and Coin Pillows
All pillows are done. I posted my ring pillow the other day and yesterday my dad made a drawstring pouch for our unity coins :) hehe..i’ll quote aweng on this, “dumi-diy na si fil..” seriously, i have no talent in sewing. If I do it by hand, it’s so uneven. Then I cant figure out the sewing machine because everytime that i’ve tried, it looked like a nest of threads...

TIP # 2
I’ll share a piece of advice someone gave to me before the wedding: remember to stop for a minute — just you and your bride, during the reception — and just look around and take it all in. Cause it all goes by so fast, from the moment we’re down on our knee and she cries and says yes, to when she says, “I do,” and suddenly you’re back home unpacking from the...

I thought of compiling here all the wedding tips and advices we learn along the way. We’ll post back from time to time to share tips from either ourselves or fellow bride/grooms, mostly from those who just got married.

Ring Pillow, Final!
Yes. This is final. I can’t change my mind anymore since I don’t have enough time to think and make another one when I still have a line up of diy. Anyway, I was supposed to just stick with the 2nd pillow that I came up with but Aweng asked me last week to make a new one since he’s not liking the eyelet lace flower anymore. He was eyeing on me using the same flower as the...

Groom Suit: Onesimus... First Fitting
Today’s itinerary is not all about Thessa’s shoes. I also did something for myself. :)
Side Kwento: I booked Onesimus last day of July 2011. It was Thessa’s first day of vacation here in PH and the last day of SALE in Onesimus. So this is the first supllier we booked together. Sweet!
I came back first week of January for my measurement and was asked to come back 2 weeks after...

Bridal Shoes: Perfect Match
I met with Ms. Mari, owner of Perfect Match Shoes and Ties, for Thessa’s shoes. I was alone, and I think it was the first time for Ms. Mari to have a meeting with a groom. According to her, normally for overseas brides, it’s the friend, sister or mother who meets with her. Should I be ashamed?
Anyway, here’s what Thessa wanted her shoes to look like - from Anthropologie. The...
Bridal dress second thoughts?!?!
I wasn’t really in search for a bridal dress since I’ve already decided and sent my pegs to Tito Boy. But as I was browsing the other day, I came across a certain post (cant remember whose blog it is) and saw a picture by Imagine Nation’s Toto Villaruel, who happens to be one of my fave photographers :) The picture below is the one that I’ve seen and it was the skirt that...

After 4 months, our video is still a hit!
Before we forget, we would like to thank those who appreciated our preps especially our prenup video.
Our name is all over the internet (exaggerated). Four months ago, we were totally unknown. Now, you can just type our name in google and you’ll find us.
Last night, a former schoolmate who was browsing for her wedding stumbled upon this blog. Then she sent Thessa a loooong email to...
